10 things no-one tells you before you have a baby.
PREGNANCY!
1. Your hair will get really thick and then falls out afterwards! Mine came out in clumps!
2. Morning sickness can last all through your pregnancy!
3. Feeling baby move is lovely but can also really hurt!
4. Everyone will have an opinion on your choice of babies name.....
5. You'll also realise how many names (and people) you hate, after the endless search and then you'll fall in love with the one and never look back.
6. The pressure around bottle vs breast feeding!
7. You will never, ever feel prepared for birth but your body takes over and you know exactly what to do.
8. Pregnancy can be really hard and it's okay not to enjoy it!
9. You will fall in love all over again, with your baby and partner! Seeing your baby for the first time is a whole other level of love and then seeing your partner with the baby is even better.
10. No-one knows what they're doing, everyone else is winging it too!
POST-PARTUM!
1. Postpartum bleeding will last a long time, usually 4-6 weeks and then you'll get your period! You'll also bleed even if you had a c - section.
2.You will have alot of pains after giving birth, everywhere will hurt but its all worth it and settles after a few weeks.
3. Loneliness. Everyone will visit once baby has been born then everyone will slowly disappear.
4. HEMORRHOIDS, so painful!
5. You will still cry at everything - baby does something new. cute animals on the tv, partner going back to work, EVERYTHING!. Emotions will run high.
6. The newborn stage isn't always the hardest experience.
7. The thought of having stitches will be scarier than actually giving birth. No-one wants someone putting stitches down there after everything they've just been through.
8. Delivering the placenta can be much worse than delivering the baby. I bled ALOT.
9. Anxiety. No-one tells you how anxious you'll really be. It can be really overwhelming.
10. Your body will never look the same again, no-one bounces back like everyone says. Those lumps and bumps are there to stay and you'll learn to love them as they gave you your baby.
